It reads like a Hollywood script but tragically it is happening in real life to a Hungarian mother and son.  An ongoing family dispute, halfway around the world has resulted in a young Hungarian mother and her son being held against their will in luxury getaway location Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
Local authorities have harassed the frightened mother and young boy and blocked them for returning home to Hungary, where family and supporters have been lobbying for their release.
The torment for the two has been ongoing for over a year now.
Dr. F.  Mbala Mbala, an experienced Barrister and legal counsel to the French Government has commented that “local authorities in Bora Bora have no jurisdiction on these matters”.
Repeated attempts to communicate with local authorities have been ignored and questionable legal processes have further compounded the young mother’s attempts to return home to Hungary from what was supposed to have been a brief family holiday. The pain and suffering inflicted on the two has allegedly been masterminded by her husband, who she has desperately been trying to divorce which has triggered these turn of events.
According to both Hungarian and French legal experts, the case should have been referred back to one of the countries of the European Union, where both mother and child are official residents. It has been claimed that the local Gendarmerie, have continuously harassed the mother and failed to respond when the husband confiscated the mother and young boy’s passports, preventing mother and child from traveling to see family and friends and return home.
Hungarian authorities and government officials have been doing everything within their power to have the case resolved and represent the two Hungarian citizens in this matter.
It is understood that French officials have now been made aware of the situation and are making active enquiries into the handling of the matter.   Bora Bora’s police Chief, J. M. Severac was unavailable for comment.
The young mother, a financial industry professional with a degree in political science and years of experience with some for the worlds largest banks, has also been physically abused and assaulted over the course of her year-long torment and is now forced to work for minimum wages just to feed and accommodate her young son. Again, this appears orchestrated by the husband.
